Discover the essence of the Greek islands with a private wine tasting experience at Avaton 1739, set high above the Naxos town marina.
This 40-minute guided journey includes a tasting of five carefully selected wines from small island producers: the "Kouros Lefkos" from Saint Anna Winery (Naxos), "ALO" from Ktima Kostaki (Samos), "Aidani" from Hatzidakis Winery (Santorini), "Liatiko Rose" from Iliana Malihin (Crete) and "Orgion" from Sclavos Wines (Kefalonia).
Each wine is paired with a curated selection of Naxian cheeses and cured meats, offering a true taste of the island. Enjoy tulumotyri, a sharp, tangy, crumbly cheese matured in goatskin, Xinotyro is firm yet creamy with fresh acidity and a slight sourness, Graviera is dense, nutty, and slightly sweet, served with local olive oil, Anthotyro is soft and mild, paired with smoky pancetta. Finish with a rare 2-year aged graviera, hard and aromatic, accompanied by cured ham or rustic salami.
Alongside the flavors, explore the unique microclimate of the sea and its influence on viticulture and winemaking, while gaining insight into the cultural and mythological roots of Greek wine traditions.
The tasting also features a presentation of the ancient "Sfouni" and the symbolic "Potiri tou Dikaiou".
Available daily from 12:00 to 21:00, this experience offers a rich blend of taste, storytelling and panoramic views, perfect for those seeking a deeper connection to island life.
