Description
Discover the authentic heart of Naxos through a journey that blends history, culture and local flavors. The experience begins in the charming village of Eggares with a visit to a traditional Olive Press Museum, one of the oldest on the island, where the rich heritage of Naxian olive oil production is revealed. The route then continues to Melanes to admire the impressive Kouros of Flerio, an ancient unfinished marble statue standing nearly six meters tall and offering a fascinating glimpse into early Greek sculpture.
Passing through the village of Kinidaros, known for its historic marble quarries, the tour proceeds to the remarkable Panagia Drosiani Monastery, home to some of the oldest surviving murals in the Balkans and an important monument of early Christian art.
The experience concludes in the picturesque village of Chalkio with a visit to the historic Vallindras Citrus Distillery, where the famous local citrus liqueur is produced and a tasting is offered.
