Wander through the charming cobblestone alleys of Chora, Naxos' main town, accompanied by your guide. Along the way, you'll visit the local produce market just as the Naxos residents do. Here, you can handpick fresh, seasonal ingredients, bursting with color, fragrance and flavor, ingredients you'll soon put to use in the cooking class that follows.
The route also passes by tiny, traditional shops tucked away in the alleys, where you'll learn about Naxos' famous local products: olives, olive oil, honey, potatoes, fruit, cheeses and meats that are highly sought after throughout Greece. At some of these shops, you'll have the chance to sample the products firsthand. The local cheeses are simply irresistible and tasting the signature Naxos liqueur made from citron is equally delightful.
As you continue, you'll explore the winding streets around the Chora castle, built in the 13th century during Venetian rule, when Naxos was known as the Duchy of Naxos. This walk gives you a glimpse of life in those times and allows you to appreciate both the beauty and functionality of Cycladic architecture.
Your tour concludes at a cozy traditional taverna, where you'll meet the talented chef. Step by step, he will guide you in preparing mouthwatering traditional appetizers and the classic Greek salad, all while highlighting the flavors and aromas of the Mediterranean.
Finally, the best part: everyone gathers to enjoy the dishes you've prepared alongside another traditional Greek specialty made by our chef. Glasses are raised, toasts are shared and the day ends with a celebration of good food, local culture and memorable experiences.

David met us at the easy to find meeting point on time and took us on a tour of Naxos Town, providing current and historical information that felt genuine and relevant.
The cheese tasting was interesting and whilst we were able to buy food from the deli there was no pressure to do so.
The food preparation and meal was the highlight of the day and was simple for a novice like myself and still provided some tips and advice for the more experienced.
David was an ideal guide throughout and even sent us pictures and recipes afterwards to save us having to take notes.
Would highly recommend this tour.
