Nestled in the lush, green valley of Potamia, a village named after its abundant water streams ('Potami' means river in Greek), once stood a network of 14 watermills. Though most have fallen into ruin, one beautifully restored 18th-century watermill remains, a rare testament to the island's rich past. Adjacent to it, the miller's traditional home still stands, once a bustling hub where villagers brought their dough to be baked in four large wood-fired ovens.
Today, this historic setting comes to life once more as you are invited to immerse yourself in an authentic Naxian cooking experience. In this hands-on class, you will prepare four traditional dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients - rustic handmade pies, hearty stews, succulent roasts and flavorful appetizers, all deeply rooted in the island's culinary heritage.
As the aromas fill the air and your creations come to life, a beautifully set table awaits. Sit back and savor the fruits of your labor, paired with homemade wine, in an unforgettable celebration of taste, tradition, and local hospitality.
Please, note that: Recipes may change depending on seasonal produce, culinary restrictions and availability.
