Explore the villages of Naxos with one of the most experienced tour guides on the island. Originally from Naxos, he is an expert English-speaking mountain guide.
Starting from Kourounohori village, you will discover parts of Naxos that most tourists would not have the opportunity to explore. You will learn the history of the small villages of the island from your very experienced and knowledgeable personal mountain guide.
You will follow a 6-kilometre route at a relaxed pace, passing through Kourounohori and Melanes villages. Along the way, you will visit the famous Kouros of Melanes statue, an iconic archaeological site. The real beauty of the hike is found in the paths where a small river crosses, with small lakes and ducks along the way.
Next, you will visit the historic Kokkos Tower in the Potamia area. This 17th-century Venetian tower is a testament to the island's rich history. Finally, your hike will end in Potamia village, where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, scenic surroundings and an optional visit to church Agios Mamas.
Your tour guide will recommend different spots where you can enjoy a traditional Greek meal. Note that lunch is not included in the price of your tour.
Take your time to take pictures, wear comfortable shoes and clothes, and make sure to have plenty of water with you. You will finish your tour feeling exhilarated and full of wonder at the tumultuous history and natural majesty of the island.
If you want, we can also organize a mini-bus transfer from Naxos town. Of course, you can make your own way to Kourounohori village by regular public busses.
