This circular hike on Tinos takes you through three Catholic mainland villages. Starting in Loutra, you will have the chance to visit the Ursulines Monastery, which once hosted a well-known girls' boarding school with a European reputation. Today, it serves as a museum featuring an interesting folklife exhibition, operating only during the summer months.
From Loutra, the trail leads you to Koumaros, one of the island's most scenic villages, before reaching Exomvourgo hill, the second highest mountain on Tinos. Here, you can explore the ruins of the Venetian castle and enjoy expansive views from the summit.
The route then takes you downhill to Xynara village, which was the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese during Venetian times. The hike ends with a return to Loutra, where you can choose to enjoy an optional outdoor lunch, offering local dishes.
This hike is classified as moderate, with a total distance of 5.5 kilometers (3.42 miles).
