Discover the beauty of Naxos' southern coast on this kayaking adventure from the sandy beach of Kalandos, sheltered from the northerly summer winds, the meltemia. This area is the island's southernmost wetland and the first resting and feeding stop for migratory birds traveling from Africa.
After a quick equipment check and safety briefing from your certified guide, you'll be ready to paddle about 8 km along the south coast, heading east. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Cycladic islands and stop at hidden coves where you can swim beneath towering cliffs.
Glide through calm, blue-green waters and admire striking geological formations along the coastline until you reach the highlight: Rhina Cave, with its ceiling of tiny stalactites and a secluded beach just steps away.
Pause at Rhina Cave's pristine beach for 30-40 minutes to relax and sample local snacks and delicacies prepared by your guide. Swim, snorkel, or simply unwind while taking in the serene surroundings.
Finally, paddle back to Kalandos Beach and conclude the tour with an optional traditional meal at a nearby taverna, savoring authentic Naxian flavors while enjoying the view.

I recently had the pleasure to participate in the sea kayaking tour to Rina Cave in Naxos, and I must say, it was an truly exceptional experience. The clear, blue waters of the Aegean Sea were a magnificent sight, and kayaking through them was both, exhilarating and peaceful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring safety while sharing fascinating stories about the local history and environment.
The visit to Rina Cave itself was the highlight; the natural beauty of the cave was breathtaking. We also had the opportunity to swim in the crystal-clear waters, which was most refreshing. However, I found the duration of the tour a little bit too long, as it became somewhat tiring towards the end, especially under the strong sun.
Overall, the experience was very rewarding. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and is looking for an adventurous activity in Naxos. Just be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen!
