Our meeting point is on the main road in Eggares in front of "Haris Taverna". Christos will pick us up with her truck to lead the rest of the bumpy road until his farm. The bumpy farm road between the bamboos is a part of the experience. You will find Christos under an olive tree where he has all his work tables, blocks of Naxian crystalline white marble and a set of locally forged tools. He will share with you a brief history of marble arts, introduce you to the different types of tools and discuss the properties of marble and other stones.

He will guide you through the use and the traditional hand carving technique of each tool and you will practice with each tool on a block of marble with what you have learned. When you have "mastered" each tool, we will proceed to design and create a relief sculpture that you can then take home with you. It can be an Archaic Greek design from one of Christo's templates or an idea you have brought with you. He will work with you on the approach, process and execution of the piece.
