The tour begins with a visit to the Palace of Knossos, led by a private professional host. This ancient palace, built 3500 years ago, is a must-see monument in Crete. Following this, the tour explores the historic Venetian Loggia and the majestic Cathedral of Agios Minas or the Church of Agios Titos. The journey continues to the Venetian Castle of Heraklion "Koules," a massive two-story fortress that once guarded the port's entry.
A culinary adventure awaits, starting with Bougatsa, a classic Cretan pastry, paired with rich Greek coffee. Participants then enjoy a variety of Cretan mezes at a traditional mezedopoleio, savoring dishes such as eggplant salad, roast goat or pork in red wine sauce, and Cretan sausages, all accompanied by raki, the traditional Cretan spirit.
The tour also includes a visit to the unique "Pastry Museum," which features 232 rare exhibits, 32 of which are unique worldwide, revealing aspects of Cretan heritage. In the specially designed Pastry Kitchen, participants will engage in a private pastry lesson with a pastry chef, learning about chocolate and its history, making filled chocolates or cookies, and practicing drawing with chocolate.
Transportation for the tour is provided in a non-shared air-conditioned sprinter to the Blue Palace Elounda.
