Description
Chrissi is a natural wonder in the heart of the Libyan Sea, born from a submarine volcanic eruption 350,000 years ago. Covering 4,743 square meters and reaching a maximum height of 27 meters, this islet is famed for its turquoise waters, golden beaches and ancient cedar forest, home to trees over 200 years old. It is Europe's southernmost natural park and a true gem of the Mediterranean.
The journey from Ierapetra to Chrissi lasts about 1 hour, crossing the serene Libyan Sea under the watchful eyes of herring gulls. On the island, traces of a Minoan settlement reflect its history as a hub for the prized red pigment, porphyra. The cedar forest covers one-quarter of the island, with trees up to 1 meter tall and extensive root systems that protect the sand.

As the boat approaches, the sea transforms from deep blue to lighter turquoise, revealing shallow bays, sandy beaches and shell-strewn shores. Chrissi Ammos (Belegrina) on the north coast is the main beach, with other idyllic spots including Hatzivolakas (NW), Fokiospilo (NE), Treis Vagies (SE), Kataprosopo (E) and the southern beach at Vougiou Mati. Swimming and snorkeling are available in calm, crystal-clear waters, with life jackets, boards, masks, snorkels, flippers and balls provided.
To protect the island's ecosystem, disembarkation is not allowed this year, but passengers can swim from the boat to enjoy the beaches. Sailing along the coast offers stunning views of golden sand, colorful rocks and fossil-rich cliffs formed by ancient lava flows.
A self-service restaurant and bar onboard provides meals, snacks and drinks (credit/debit cards only, cash not accepted). Bringing food to the island is prohibited.

Important information
In order to protect the unique natural ecosystem of the island of Chrissi, it is not allowed to disembark on the island this summer. The ship approaches the island and anchors in a leeward spot near a selected beach for swimming in crystal clear water, a short distance from the shore to facilitate access for passengers who want to reach the island by swimming. The use of the island's beaches is allowed. Access to the interior of the island and the use of the shade of the junipers are prohibited

When will I get my ticket?
We will confirm availability within 1 day or less. Once availability has been confirmed, will we then ask you to pay by sending you an email with a payment link. Please pay promptly to ensure your booking goes ahead.
What happens if the weather is bad?
In case the weather is bad and for your safety your excursion is cancelled you will first be offered the chance to reschedule. If, for whatever reason you can't or don't want to reschedule - including, simply, your wishes, we will then immediately process a 100% refund of your booking. Without any extra fees or charges. No hassle no fuss.
Rarely, bad weather may also mean that, for your safety, a different itinerary is used. Here, no refund is possible. The tour organizer will always offer an equivelant itinerary taking the same amount of time and visiting equally impressive places (just those not so prone to bad weather) and offering an equally enjoyable experience that you are sure to treasure.
Can I pay on arrival?
It is not possible to pay on arrival. The only way to secure a booking is to make a reservation beforehand.
