Experience the charm of Sifnos with this 4-hour traditional cooking class set in the idyllic surroundings of a sunny farm. One of the island's most captivating activities, this class allows you to explore Sifnos' culinary heritage. As you cook alongside other participants, the secrets of the island's traditional diet are revealed, while engaging conversations and the warm farm atmosphere enhance your experience. You will meet your hosts at 10:00 am, beginning with introductions and a discussion of the farm's history, Sifnian cuisine and the cultivation of local vegetables.
Throughout your visit, an English-speaking assistant will be available to answer any questions and ensure that your experience is both enjoyable and informative.
At 10:30 am, you will begin preparing your healthy, seasonal menu for the day. With guidance from the hosts, two refreshing salads, two savory appetizers and two main courses will be crafted. To complement your meal, you may enjoy a choice of local dry white wine or sweet sun-dried red wine. For dessert, a selection of seasonal fruits such as watermelon, melon, pears, apricots and damsons, all grown organically on the farm, will be offered.
At noon, a leisurely walk through the farm allows you to discover farming traditions from 100 years ago. The goats can be visited, and fresh fruits and vegetables sampled directly from the garden. A nearby pottery workshop will be explored, where a demonstration of traditional ceramics will be presented, and you will have the opportunity to purchase an authentic piece as a keepsake.
By 1:00 pm, you will return to the farm to enjoy the dishes you have prepared, savoring the flavors of your work in the tranquil farm setting.
