Starting from Halki village (parking), you will discover parts of Naxos that most tourists would not have the opportunity to explore. You will learn the history of the small villages of the island from your very experienced and knowledgeable personal guide.
You will follow a 9-kilometre route at a relaxed pace. You will explore the villages and paths of Halki, Kourounohori and Potamia. But the real beauty is found in the paths passing by the watermills. Beautiful landscapes and different animals can be seen during this hike. We will also visit the famous Kouros of Melanes statue.
Your tour guide will suggest spots where you can have a traditional Greek meal. Note that, lunch is not included in the price of your tour.
Take your time to take pictures, wear comfortable shoes and clothes and have plenty of water with you. You will finish your tour feeling exhilarated and full of wonder at the tumultuous history and natural majesty of the island.
If you want we can also organize a mini-bus transfer from Naxos town. Of course, you can make your own way to Halki village by regular public busses.

It was such a great time! The farm is so lovely, every animal has a name :) Georgios is amazing and really making sure everybody enjoys :)
The experience with Georgios is not one to be missed. He has a deep love for his animals and you get a first hand experience with the farm, the olive trees, animals and archery. Highly recommended!
We spent a lovely morning on the farm, meeting all of the donkeys and feeding the animals. We enjoyed taking to George and hearing his stories. We had a great archery lesson and enjoyed our time together. The farm is a few minutes walk to the village of Chalkio, which we explored after the farm and found a nice spot for lunch.
Georgios was very thoughtful. He has a genuine passion and love for donkeys and the other animals. As a local and being on family land there is a rich history he has with the property. He was so friendly and kind with my partner and I. We had a great time, laughed a lot and it felt like spending time with friends. It was a really special experience to be around such loving friendly donkeys. Definitely would recommend.
The farm is on a beautiful olive grove. The donkeys are super friendly and are soooo excited to see you when you first come in! Georgios is very welcoming and knowledgeable, and showed us around his beautiful farm and introduced us to his animals. Trying out archery was a fun little bonus! Highly recommend, easily one of our favourite things we did on Naxos island, plus the drive there and back from town was gorgeous.
My children did not want to leave. Georgios was a kind and generous host. Highly recommend.

Georgios hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen. Schon im ersten Moment fühlten wir uns sehr wohl. Hauptsächlich waren wir wegen der Esel dort. Er hat aber auch sehr viele andere Tiere. Man merkt den Tieren auch an, dass Georgios sich sehr gut um sie kümmert. Die Esel waren sehr kuschelig und super niedlich! Georgios gab uns auf sehr nette und lustige Art einen Rundgang seiner Farm und zeigte uns wie man mit dem Bogen schießt. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass die Tiere sehr gut behandelt werden und auch einen großen Auslauf haben.Ich vermisse die Tiere, besonders die Esel wirklich sehr! Wenn man auf Naxos ist, sollte man unbedingt einen Tag auf Georgios Farm verbringen! Wir können diese Entdeckung herzlich weiterempfehlen!

What a fantastic day out! Georgios' experience is completely unique and so different to everything else we have done in Greece. Being inland the location offered us a new look at Greece. Georgios himself is a fantastic teacher, warm and jolly and full of stories. The experience includes all described on the listing but you can tailor it throughout your time. We were interested in the history and the plants and the olives and spent a lot of time talking about those. But then we met the little bunny bagsy and all history was forgotten... Similarly the baby donkey was the sweetest creature with huge beautiful eyes. Georgios loves his animals like a father he takes in all of the injured ones and he mends them as best he can and loves them as they are. There was a great moment in which a goat hopped the wall which they are always doing to go and see the sheep in the other field. But Georgios' face hahahahah! His animals are cheeky, wonderful creatures full of personality, gentle and curious explorers themselves. We sat down to a wonderful snack and juice with Georgios and relaxed in the shade of his beautiful landscape. He has big dreams for the place and we can't wait to come back and see them realised though it was in our eyes already so complete. A perfect day. Thank you so much. Simply incredible. George is a great person and he truly loves his animals! We had a great time meeting lots of new animal friends and we're excited to come back to Naxos and visit with them again in the future. I learned how to shoot a bow and arrow (sort of), get water out of a well, and simply enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and time with George and his animals. Highly, highly recommended.
THE best thing we did in Greece, and a huge part of why we went to Naxos. The hours flew by but we were invited back with such sincerity it felt like a new friend was made. You'll love meeting the wonderful animals, and you get the best archery teacher in all of Greece! Easy to get to by bus, so if you're in Naxos: DO THIS!
Absolutely family and nature friendly experience. You can sit back and feel the ways of living generations ago. The animal farm, archery and the sheer walking was fabulous.
Georgios is great host and storyteller. He loves his animals as well as his guests! Very helpful, polite and interesting local person to meet!
