Sail from Naxos to Amorgos with Naxos Star. The boat departs from Naxos at 08:45 arriving at Katapola at 11.25, a beautiful Cycladic settlement with white windmills and charming blue and white cottages. It is characterized by its narrow streets that meander towards a stunning Venetian castle. Once you step foot on the island the local bus will be waiting for you.
Take the bus to visit Chora (the medieval capital of Amorgos), the Monastery of Hozoviotissa (the second oldest Monastery in Greece), Aigiali (the charming bay area with the port village Ormos) or just stay in Katapola to explore the main Port and the nearby sandy beaches, or the settlements of Rachidi and Xilokeratidi, which due to the proximity to each other for most travelers are considered as the village of Katapola. Rachidi is dominated by the church of Ayios Georgios, while Xilokeratidi is one of the most picturesque corners of the island with its narrow streets and traditional tavernas.
At 16:00 the local bus will start from Aigiali, it will pass by Chora at 16.30, arriving in Katapola at 16:50, perfectly timed to catch the Naxos Star for your journey back.
